Automotive glazing
Technology for each type of use
Saint-Gobain Sekurit demonstrates that automotive glazing is a complex and multi-purposed product. Each requirement has its own specific technology.
Electrochrome glass
This convex glass is used for all automotive glazing except the windscreen; in particular, it is used in the sun-roofs of the prestigious Superamerica and Scaglietti models by Ferrari. This solution is also now developed for large surfaces for housing applications as a replacement for conventional blinds. The advantage is that the level of light, and therefore heat, permeating the glass can be controlled at will, leading to substantial savings in air-conditioning costs.
Always the best for comfort
Many innovations make our cars safer and more comfortable:
- Heat-absorbent or reflective glass: maintains a constant temperature, adjusting to the heat of the sun throughout the day.
- Water-repellent glass: offers better visibility, even in heavy rain.
- Laminated glass: its composition prevents shattering and guarantees better safety.
- Complex-shaped glass: three dimensional rear windows, panoramic windscreens, etc. These types of glass allow designers to create even more innovative and original vehicles.
