Fire-protection glass
Safety serving design
Guaranteeing the safety of goods and people is the core activity of Saint-Gobain Vetrotech. Its strength lies in its ability to offer comprehensive solutions which combine multifunction versatility and the aesthetic appeal of modern architecture.
From glass to fire protection
For more than 20 years, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain has been developing the best fire protection glass solutions.
Two techniques are used:
- - Tempered safety glass with or without a layer of transparent metallic oxides
- - Tempered or laminated glass with translucent intumescent gels: in the event of fire, the gel becomes opaque ensuring the glass remains intact in order to provide perfect protection.
Several levels of protection
- - Classe E: resistance to flames, smoke and hot gas for at least 30 minutes.
- - EW indicates that the product also offers limited protection against heat radiation.
- - EI classification guarantees total heat insulation in the event of fire for between 30 to 120 minutes.
With architects and designers in mind, Saint-Gobain Vetrotech does not limit itself to merely complying with these regulatory standards, but also adds multi-functional glazing with high aesthetic appeal to its range.
Combining function and design
Saint-Gobain Vetrotech benefits from Saint-Gobain Glass Solutions' product range which combines functions such as Reinforced Thermal Insulation, solar protection, screen-printing, or sandblasting as required. This variety enables its products to be used in all parts of a building: facade, floor, roof, separating door, etc.
