Awareness raising actions
Saint-Gobain has adopted a proactive approach to raise awareness among the public of the dangers created by CO2 emissions from buildings.
This has resulted in the Group making a significant contribution to the collective “Isolons la Terre contre le CO2” initiative and helped create the Effinergie label in France, as well as contributing to CO2NTRA in Germany, Isoterra in Belgium, Spaar het klimaat in the Netherlands and Isolando in Italy.
Saint-Gobain has joined the Green Building Councils in several countries, including the United States, Colombia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Germany. These partnerships will give Saint-Gobain the opportunity to share its expertise in environmental quality with other businesses and encourage best practices in the building industry, while recognizing each country's specific characteristics.
It should also be noted that the Building Distribution Sector takes part in raising awareness among professionals of the need to incorporate an environmental approach in the choice and use of construction materials.
