International Environment, Health and Safety Day
On October 7, 2010, all Saint-Gobain sites will celebrate the 4th International Environment, Health and Safety Day.
Worldwide, Group employees and management will utilize this event to boost awareness, and improve safety, health compliance, and environmental protection. In this edition, the theme of biodiversity is in the spotlight (2010 has been declared the International Year of Biodiversity by the United Nations).
Established six years ago, Saint-Gobain's International Environment, Health and Safety Day brings together, on the ground, employees, management teams and executives to address fundamental environment, health and safety issues. Families and local partners may also be invited to attend the event.
It is a unique opportunity to unite all employees behind Saint-Gobain's values, on the same day, worldwide, and to celebrate the diversity and wealth of the cultures that make up the Group.
The day features numerous workshops, conferences and events organized at all sites: road safety, health and nutrition advice, waste sorting and recycling, industrial risk and fire hazard awareness, first-aid courses, competitions and knowledge tests, open days, etc.
